     Surfing is definitely fun but if you're like me entering the ocean typically carries a bit of shark anxiety.  I've spent most of my life conjuring up ways for humans and sharks to coexist without that fear.   I think I finally found a solution!  

     Non-invasive technology is now available to ease this anxiety and serve as an aerial sentry for us during our various ocean activities.  Drones capture sharks swimming around ocean enthusiasts everyday.   At sea level, they are only seen when they want to be seen but with a drone flying above during your water time, sharks are easily spottable if they are cruising near the surface.  The drone is out of earshot but must always fly within visual line of sight (VLOS) per FAA rules.  

     With the SharkNark ™ our goal is to decrease human shark encounters by providing an early warning to the ocean enthusiast.  Previous measures unfortunately involved killing sharks (shark cullings, shark nets, and baited drumlines).  With this system in place, sharks can continue being sharks.  After all, the ocean is the sharks' home.  

     I understand most of the time sharks are kind and maybe just a little bit curious but I'd appreciate an early warning when one was in my vicinity.....wouldn't you?
